DescriptionThe Phase mean “No”!This page from TIL DEATH DO US PART (pt 6) broke my heart all over again. I was so happy that these two amazing characters with such a huge history and awesome love story finally committing themselves to each other. These characters are very fictional but I’ve known them for most of my life. This entire X-Men Gold series was in a way dedicated to the love between Colossus and Kitty with issue #30 (like in the X-Men 1991 series) leading up to a big wedding story. But it wasn’t the wedding we were expecting. There had to be a twist, I was so mad at this issue that I ignored the fact that two other favorite characters tied the knot (Rogue and Gambit) but I wanted these two to finally have a happy ending together. It really just cut out my heart and this page was the one that drove the blade into deep into my chest. I really enjoyed the story up until this issue, I still feel the sadness and pain from a 40 year love story coming to this conclusion, but have to say the art and design from Marquez is completely on point and captures the beauty of the celebration and mood perfectly. Then tears a hole into my chest with this obnoxious twist that really wasn’t needed. These two characters really could have used this commitment and closure, but in the soap-opera style of X it isn’t meant to be. I fear that years down the line they will reconnect but if it ever comes to this point again, I am afraid I won’t allow myself to really get into it. They have such a beautiful story of loss, sacrifice and huge joy in reuniting through the years, this series set up with lots of issues too prep this event, only to tear it all down by Kitty’s actions seen here. Her phasing her hand through Colossus’s hand in a single image tore apart a 40 year love story. Bad Kitty! Social/Sharing |

Oh man! 4 days into 2022 and already the second great "hand" cover on CAF. Yes, I have a fetish. Not ashamed to admit it. This cover is perfect for me. No logo, no word balloons, no backgrounds, just hands. Sorry that I never read the story, but that hand phase "no" is such a dramatic silent gesture. Great, great, cover! Hand fetish or not.

Whew, sorry about the disappointment, man, but the image really does capture it perfectly. Happy sad, funny, dark, etc...whatever the emotion you gotta love when OA evokes it like it can. Nice example here, James. Congrats!

I hated this too... (not the art the wedding not happening) - I asked Guggenhiem about thisand he wanted to marry them but Marvel vetoed it because they felt Kitty would lose her "Youngest XMen" feel ....

Kittys ancient at this stage. Youngest X-men feel???? Marvels run by loonies who know nothing about comics, which is why I stopped reading their now crappy comics.
