Description

Another helping of Michael Rankins' "Common Elements" to savor, this one with (the original) Ms. Marvel and Supergirl for the entry "Danvers Dolls". Since he explains it best, Michael posted at his gallery: "One of those rare pairings where the common elements between the characters are almost too numerous to mention. Both Ms. Marvel and Supergirl are distaff variations on existing male heroes; both are blonde; both have powers deriving from an alien civilization whose name starts with K (Krypton and Kree); both were penciled for a significant period by Jim Mooney. But here's my favorite: Both had secret identities with the same uncommon last name, Danvers."

This was my first time inking Christopher Rich-McKelvey but certainly not the first time I've worked with the 2 lovely ladies (I've inked MM 4 times and SG 12 times). This 11X17 pencil art on 2-ply board was completed February 7, 2020. It is Michael's big 70th commission for me!
