Description

Second interior page from the short story (2 pages) "Agente Segreto" (Secret Agent), fully made by Luciano Bottaro. The story was first pubbished in Corriere dei Piccoli n. 26 of 1st July 1973 (65th year of pubblications).

Signed as "Bott" on the second panel. In top part, with a marker now unclear, there is written "Per l'amico Ugo Scotto da Bottaro".

Redipicche (King of Spades) is a genial character that manages to defeat the King of Hearts (Redicuori). Bottaro created a world inspired by the playing cards with dark humour and unique style.

The whole motif of playing cards is dealt with exceptionally. The designs are universally recognizable and the symbolism on the suits can be paired with the characters.
