Description

I am thoroughly enjoying Donny Cates's great writing in this fun book and Geoff Shaw's art has been consistently spectacular (as has work by the other creators on this series). This page from issue five boasts a great portrait of main character Ellie Howell, which was my main objective as I hunted for a piece from this series, and it also sports a super full figure shot of Madman wielding the large sword Valofax, along with a couple closeups and an establishing shot with all the central characters marching through no man's land. This is among my favorite pages from the whole series aesthetically, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got the email saying I landed it.

A treat for Comics fans who can pick out these different elements and references from all corners of the indie landscape through the years. Cates and Shaw are definitely having fun with storytelling and pulling in some of their favorites into the tale.
