Description

The Variant Cover of Infinity #1 by Adam Kubert. Done with Mixed Media on textured parchment. Truly unique piece of all the art I own.

The quick story with this cover is that it was sold to me as the OA for the Main Cover/Cover A, the Neon Blue and Black Infinity Issue #1. I learned after the fact this was not the case, and this Cover was done by Adam Kubert as a Variant. The seller explained it was sold to him this way as well, explaining he too was also misled. In the end, I should have done more research, but I purchased the cover for the art. An emotional acquisition where I was initially taken back by the art of this piece, seeing clearly this was not your traditional pen & ink cover. Cover was drawn in "mixed media", which looks to be inks, ink-wash, paint, etc). One day I will confirm with Kubert directly and ask him more about this cover. In the end, this image of Thanos The Mad Titan is one of my favorites of my Thanos Cover Collection.

Beautiful piece! It looks like Kubert did two drawings. One is the inked piece that appears to have been used for the main cover and this graphite/mixed media piece that was used for the Capital City Variant cover.
