DescriptionArt Of Arantza Vol. 1 Pg. 18 - Warrior Woman pin-up illustration, pencils by Arantza Sestayo. 12" x 18" graphite/pencil on Bristol, signed by Arantza.I fell hard for Arantza's work last year when I came across some of her paintings here on CAF. Insanely impressive artist. And as you can see from this example, her pencil work doesn't disappoint either. A warrior woman prepares to strike in this fantastic illustration which was published in Arantza's first art book (The Art Of Arantza, Volume 1). Some of the finest pencils in my collection, happy to own this piece! Social/Sharing |

Her pencils are gorgeous! No need to even bring up that it's not "comic art". She could easily be a character in the Conan universe anyway. I've got a second, entirely separate CAF gallery filled with non-comics illustration that's even further from comic art than this, as do others. Most of those pieces seem to have far more views than my comic art, so there are plenty of collectors who are interested in seeing illustration beyond superhero comic art. Just enjoy this!

Thanks Ruben. i have a seperate gallery folder within this gallery for some of the illustration/non comic book art stuff in my collection (which isn't a ton) but not a seperate entire gallery. Don't know if I need to go that route unless I start collecting much heavier in those categories but I have noticed that a lot of pieces with high views fall into those categories which is pretty interesting. Def could see her fitting into Conan!

Oh, exactly. There's no reason to open a second gallery just to separate your non-comics illustration when you only have a few pieces. I owned dozens of them at the time back in 2008, so that's why I decided to open a 2nd gallery altogether. I was proud of that part of my art collection and I wanted to give it tthe best chance for exposure, so I felt dedicating a 2nd premium gallery just for that art was worthwhile, as that would allow anyone seeing a newly posted piece to then go into the rest of the gallery without having to look for more of it, hidden in gallery rooms mixed in amongst all the comic art. In the intervening years, I've since refocused my non-comics illustration and whittled down the collection by selling off a lot of pieces. So I may one day just close it down and repost what I still have in my main comic art gallery, but for now I still own several dozen pieces, maybe still over 100, so I'll continue to keep them in their own separate gallery.
By the way, I also forgot to mention another aspect I love about this Arantza piece. Although they're a bit too sweet, I still love Reese Peanut Butter Cups, so I love that she included 3 of them floating in the pond! 🥰

Always liked this one. Lovely!. I always regret parting with my other Arantza. But happily, I retained one!
