DescriptionFirst of 2 Black Panther posts today involving my Comic Art Fans Live buddies! Here, a sick super black and white BP piece by my main man, Eranga!Just…rad. I mean…with these killer negative space pieces Eranga’s been doing…you KNOW I had to get a BP. And he got it to me QUICK style! BP looking regal as all get out, and definitely in his element. Kinda reminds me of his first action scene in the film, where he’s in the tree right before pouncing on them dudes! Gotta love how the figure kind of blends in with the space between the trees and leaves, but is also still distinct. My favorite part might be the necklace – small on the overall 11x17 board but also so prominent. It’s really become a key feature of the modern BP. Eranga’s just gotten his first published gig – congrats, man! And thanks for the piece! Glad I got it now before it gets tougher ;) Y’all wanna check out E’s work, Instagram be the place: https://www.instagram.com/the_vitruvian_fan?utm_medium=copy_link Social/Sharing |

Silhouette play in max effect! Love it. The King stalks his terrain with ninja precision and Panther ferocity. Gets no sweeter than this! Congrats!

"Ninja precision" - both in terms of BP doin' what he do, AND Eranga doin' what he do! Ooh, I like that, Nash. Thanks, man, and all, for comments - as always, much appreciated!

Some walk by night,
Some fly art day,
Artwork could change you,
Eranga all the way.
Black Panther and the moon,
They sing their own sweet tune,
Watch them when lines are true,
Negative space.
Post art by night,
Comment by day,
Wakanda Forever
Eranga all the way

Even Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis would have to agree that this a spectacular piece.

Lol, perfecto. A lil' solitary BP moonlighting :) Though I usually post by day and comment by night :) Always love your comments, Marcus. Gives me a smile, a lil' chuckle, and of course a "how does he do it?!" Thanks!

Is Eranga moonlighting as an artist? Or is he full time?

As I write this on 2/18/22 at 9:41 AM AZ time, he's moonlighting. Way things are going, we'll see if that changes!

Wakanda insured! Another great commission from Eranga. Putting him on a branch off the ground, and also in front of those trees, really gives great depth to the piece. And it's a very striking image. Really nice addition, Kahlil. Congrats!

This is so striking !!! Eranga Devasurendra (say that five times fast) is surely making his mark in the hobby, and how awesome that he got his first published gig! I'd better get my act in gear and get one of his pieces before it's too late!!

Oh, MAN - Eranga kills it AGAIN! In what is already a signature style for him, Eranga hits a new high point with this piece. Gorgeous chiaroscuro treatment of T'Challa that captures the power and regality of the Panther in a piece the viewer just falls into. Such a beautiful composition; I honestly believe it is one of the best BP pieces in your amazing gallery, K. Congrats on such a stellar add to your collection - simply awesome. (Beautiful work, Eranga!)

Great piece. There is a risk of BP blending with the background but well placed negative space prevents this, but not completely. The not completely part of this effect gives a feeling of stealth, with the character still popping. Very cool stuff.

Totally agree, Tim. Figure gets lost if there's too much blending, but with some strategically placed, you do get the stealth effect. Which of course is part of the essence of BP's character. Gotta love when artists are able to exhibit that "character essence" in pieces. Thanks, man!
