DescriptionIts hard to find anything new to say about the work and career of George Perez. But I do know that when I see his work it very much takes me back to my earliest years looking at comics, mostly on the spinner or magazine rack at my local grocery store. His was one of the first names in comics that I recognized as a kid.This page from Brave and the Bold was just before the New 52 reboot of DC, and I'll admit I wasn't reading it as it was coming out. But returning to the collection, not almost 15 years later, I have a huge appreciation of the love letter to the DC Universe that Waid and Perez were crafting. Here we have The Challengers of the Unknown battling The Book of Destiny, a book containing stories of the DCU past, present and future that has come to live. Check out the scan of the published page and see all the art rendered into the sentient book. The Challengers story serves as a really fun framing device for a short Superman tale. Thank you Mark. The detail is more than you can ask for in a chase scene that could just by on the action. It's like Perez is doing illustrative work as a challenge to himself. The plane looks like a Corgi toy from the 70's with how compact and sleek the design is.

The design work on the page here is incredible, and I love that jet too! Now that you mention it, where can we get a Challenger Mountain playset to sit next to my Castle Greyskull, Batcave, and USS Flagg?
