Description

Having gotten away from the campy Batman of the 60's, this page from 1972 puts emphasis on actual danger and tension. I really love the way Bob Brown could set the pace of the story on a page. Those last three panels on the bottom are like they should be right out of a movie.

The DC romance and war comics of the '60s used to use that three-panel buildup. It sometimes seemed artificial in those stories. The technique indeed works very well in this Batman story!
