DescriptionContinuing with my art audit, found another McSpidey under the cushions in the couch ;-)In this page we're at the end of Todd's first solo writer/artist/inker story line 'Torment' involving the Lizard and Kraven. Here we have 4 very vertical panels in a very moody/rainy scene. o panel 1 - the DOOM DOOM DOOM theme of Torment continues o panel 2 - we see the mystery kraven-ish lady - Spidey tries to get her monologing o panel 3 - doesn't work, she creeps him out o panel 4 - What is her motive? and here we get a cool McMoney shot - you see Spidey through the open gaping mouth of the lizard. Zoom in on this one and look at the amount of detail on this panel - rain, you have the Lizard's teeth drawn individually, his tongue, and then the water dripping. out of his mouth as he salivates ready to eat Spidey. 🤯 Social/Sharing |

I've looked everywhere in my house, but no McSpidey's to be found...:). Personally these issues are his best work.

I know it's been some time
But there's artwork Scot can't find
You see, I haven't been the same
Since that Todd McFarlane page
Told in veritical space
But all we found was a Lizard face
And the Spidey things we learned
Is that I need you desperately
So Doomed I am
And Torment please tell me, oh
Where do Scot's lost art go
Can you find in Scot's home
Back to the Spider arms
Of a Todd that's waiting there
And if Scot Wingo loves you
Won't he always love you
Big looking your eyes
And I know that Todd's still there, for me

I love "Todd unleased" art and this is a great example. It was always awesome to see pages where he was able to completely illustrate his vision(s). Congratulations!! Thanks again for sharing all these McGems!

I have always liked the long vertical panels, and that last one with the Lizard is no exception. Great page with an eerie tone to it.

McFarlane really pushed the boundaries of layouts/storytelling in his initial Spider-Man arc. Awesome to see. Congrats!
