DescriptionFantastic page (final page of the story) by the great Italian Disney master Romano Scarpa, for his classic „Zio Paperone e la gara da 100 $”...one of the best pages from the story, this not only sports a highly controversial large first panel (with Scrooge driving in a tank and bringing in the army to the rescue - this panel was censored in later publications, please have a look at the attached pictures), but also a typical Scrooge gag in panels 2&3 and an amazing large final panel…First published in 1961 in the Italian Topolino 299, the story has been printed over 38 times in at least 12 countries, in Germany it first appeared in the Lustige Taschenbuch No. 85 (1982) and was one of my favorite stories a kid… Social/Sharing |

Very cool end page with the climax and falling action that resolves the story to give it a satisfying conclusion. If the new artwork was not by Scarpa, then it is a shame. It takes up the same space without having a reason with the cars just looking flat.
