DescriptionI haven't looked too deeply into it yet, but it seems that Crane only added color as guides for engravers at his syndicate during mid-1932. The Sunday series of Wash Tubbs, which appeared from 27 Feb 1927 through 7 May 1933, ran as the topper to Out Our Way by J. R. Williams, another NEA Syndicate strip. This accounts for the proportions of Crain's Wash Tubbs Sundays.Social/Sharing |

Wow -- that's a beautiful example of this classic strip!

Great look into the Depression era humor of having tough luck that kept spirits up during those tough times. The cartooning is clear and easy to follow with a very nice payoff.

Wonderful Sunday! The best of these colored early Wash Tubbs pieces that I have seen...congratulations on coming through...
