DescriptionThis is one I was on the fence about. It's a beautiful inside cover, and I love Bob Budiansky art, and Frank Springer inking is a delight! Ultimimately, I pulled the trigger on my final bid. I had my limit, and it came in under it! With Star Wars 45th Anniversay, the time seemed right!Luke, Han, Chewie, and C-3PO are featured on this great-looking unused cover image that was repurposed as an inside front cover. Everyone but Princess Leia, which is fine, have most of the main heroes! Social/Sharing |

I always think Transformers and Dazzler when I think of those two artists' careers, but they did quite a number of those Weekly covers for the UK run. And this cover has a great gaggle of our heroes in it. Nice one!

Transformers, Dazzler, but also Ghost Rider and Sub-Mariner mini-series for Bob and Invaders and Captain America with Frank for me.

Very bold artitstry by two of the most pronunced styles doing their own thing with all these characters. They were emboldened by the Infantino style to draw and pose the characters however they wanted.

That's a GREAT point about the Infantino style of drawing the character poses as you like.

This would have made a great cover, surprised they didn't use it. Glad it got repurposed Fantastic pickup.

yeah, the fact that it wasn't used was a surprise, but it kept the price a bit more affordable, and the beauty of the art is the most important part!

To the victor goes the spoils. Congratulations Nick. This is a maginificent early Star Wars sample. I was actuially one of the under bidders. I wish I would have bought it when Bechara had it for sale in his site, not too long ago.

Alfredo, out of curiosity, how much was it on Bechara's site?

That being said, he had it listed as an unpublished cover. Being that it is a published Pin up or an interior published cover definitely boost up the price.
