DescriptionSpiderman battling Doctor Octopus over the skies of New York City (2014)by Michael D. Koch I did this pinup as I was quietly dipping my toes back into comics again back in 2014 trying to figure things out before I started my first superhero issue for my space opera, "The Cosmic Survivor" (which I'm restarting to this year in issue 2) I did 2 pinups or covers of Spider-Man - more because I was curious to see what my approach would be if I were at Marvel and had make a cool Spider-man vs Doc Ock cover, two characters I've always enjoyed. I did this and made one with the Green Goblin. Even though I have been doing my own comics over the past 25 years as humorous one-page strips mostly for my entertainment, family & friends, now being republished as Fun Fun Comics. And even though I did have my Marvel & DC portfolios from the 90's illustrating 5 page stories that I was proud of. I thought perhaps it's really time for me to throw my hat in the ring, to see how I do all of this in color, bringing it to its to full completion. I was fairly certain I could draw the scene but I was still trying to figure out my approach to coloring where I got a lot of mileage practicing that here on this piece before embarking on my own full issue superhero comic.
