A rare Twice-up scale page 14 x 19.5" from this Al Williamson & Frank Frazetta joint. Signed by Al Williamson bottom right!

It's common knowledge that Al Williamson was a little more than shy about inking. His then colleague, Frank Frazetta had no such compunction! It's easy to see on the page, especially in Panel 2, 3 the smoldering intensity Frazetta may have added! The classic side views, the posse and cowgirl encounter allows Fritz to easily show off his moody chops!

This was third to the last of the run of stories the two did for Toby. Soon Frank would be off to the Durango Kid and fame and fortune!

From the John Wayne Adventures #7 story "Invitation to Murder!"

Story to this page: When Bonanza Bill injures his arm the doctor asks John to hold onto a sealed envelope in case anything happens to him. The next day Wayne discovers that the doctors been killed and his office has been ransacked. On his way to get the sheriff they are attacked by some henchmen who steal the letter!

This Page:
The henchmen take the letter to their boss Henry Marker, who verifies the contents as a "Fortune in Ranch property!" They form a criminal posse to track down Wayne and Bonanza, who find themselves in the gunsights of the wary, but sultry Ms Murdock (doctors sister)

After page: a raucous, rambling battle ensues, Wayne and Bonanza get away, where Wayne comes on an idea to switch the deed the doctor had hidden in the cast he'd made for Bonanza, with a fake which has Marker expose himself as the murderer.

Western drama, art and actions at their finest!
