Description

Estaban Ortega confesses to his dad that he was the one who injured his sister Chamayra. Officer Ortega apologizes to the imprisoned Mr. Mercator for misconstruing his presence in the apartment. He leaves a photo of Chamayra, whose life Mercator had saved.

Thus concluded the opening arc of District X. The series would run for one additional six issue arc, and then conclude with a two-parter. Then the 2005 Marvel event "House of M" radically reduced the population of mutants, eradicating Mutant Town, one of Grant Morrison's most intriguing contributions to the Marvel Universe.
