Description

John Pound (attributed) Wacky Packages Preliminary Art plus Reference Copy Group of 2 (Topps Co., 1985-91). The Topps line of bogus food packages involved Underground Comix artist Pound, among others, in bringing to life various gags composed by fellow Undergrounder Jay Lynch, the series' editorial/artistic supervisor. These two conceptual drawings (on a single sheet) depict such gross-out delicacies as Duck Light ("frozen duck on a stick") and Bum & Jerky's Icky Cream (a twist on Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream). Ink and markers on bond paper, measuring 4.5" x 6.5". Accompanied by a reference copy depicting a logotype design and yet another such imaginary product. The original-art piece is creased and lightly spot-stained. Very Good condition.
