ComicLink has this listed as a Tana Ford piece, but I remember when Tom Fowler did this on the same Cadence Select commission list as my Death and Delirium piece. Plus it's pretty clearly Tom's style and signature. I remember thinking it was an awesome piece when I first saw it, but also wondering if someone who commissioned a Hellboy piece would be happy with the main character facing away from the viewer and being presented in the detail he was. Clearly they weren't thrilled with it for it to be up for sale a few months later. I, however, was thrilled to add another cool piece from Tom to my collection at a great price.

I would suppose you are right that you'd want Hellboy facing you and this would be ideal for someone who already had that in their collection. However, letting the artist go wild with imagination is never a bad thing as it is their vision done with their utmost care and creativity.
