This is a great commission, and my favorite part is her smile. I’ve gotten a number of Maxima commissions over the decades, but most of the time artists either lean into her being a warrior princess and give her a teeth-clenched smile, or they go with her desire to have a child and give her a seductive look. It’s great to see a piece where she’s smiling and doesn’t fall into one of those two camps.
