DescriptionBill Everett Daredevil #1 Story Page 5 Original Art (Marvel, 1964). A stunning page that starts with a great panel featuring Marvel's "Man without Fear", and ends with the beginning of his origins. The pencil and ink work on this page is superb! This issue has a lot of behind-the-scenes stories about how it came to be. One of those stories is evident on this page with the fact that all of the lettering has been re-done. Using a bright light, you can see the lettering below it is intact and essentially the same. That is the original Bill Everett lettering. As he didn't finish the story, and only lettered the first few pages, it was decided to have later letterer Sam Rosen re-letter these early pages as well so they would have a uniform style throughout the story. The page was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.25" x 18.25". Toned and in Excellent condition.Social/Sharing |

A page of pop culture history right here. Beautifully illustrated--you can see the effort Everett put into it--and so much story on a single page. Awesome!

I love this page! Such a memorable scene when Matt Murdock's father tells him to stay indoors and study instead of playing outdoors. How prophetic that turns out to be! Great pick-up! Congrats!
