The western illustraion strip by Salinas reaches a zenith with how far superior these strips are to textbook drawings that are meant to last longer than a daily. Every panel is drawn vividly from memory or imagination as if these are historical in nature.

Astounding. Salinas' Cisco strips are a sight to behold. I've always felt that he was on par with Foster, Raymond & Frazetta in the pantheon of greats. Fantastic example of illustrative excellence!

I absolutely agree John! The lively,yet controlled movement of his brushwork is close to Frazetta's and his eye for historical details on par with Foster. Imagine if he'd had the same opportunity to work on the scale either of those American artists had to showcase his skills....
