DescriptionHere is the master's revisit of the classic Cobra Queen cover from the Warren years (Vampirella 23). I tried incredible hard to get the first version---and almost did. But when I saw it in person, there was damage on it that just was not acceptable, especially at the level I offered. This was about 8 or so years ago before the market really exploded. Yet my offer was nearly double what it was when it sold at auction years after. I was tempted---but just couldn't get myself to purchase it when it came up for auction. Now, at times, I wish I did...Yet, this new version more than hits the spot for me in so many ways. It is a different "style" than the original, and must admit, I like this one better! Not a knock on the original---I would still probably buy that at the right price/time. But this one is beyond mere words. And to think that Sanjulian did this in his 80's is just beyond comprehension! Social/Sharing |

Sanjulian's painting is so amazing that you can feel the slithery movement against her smooth skin by visually following the curvature of her figure from top to bottom.

I agree--I held the original in my hands before it sold and ended in Heritage. It was amazing---so sharp and detailed. But this revisit is multi-layered and, in person, is more breath-taking than even I thought it would be. I honestly think this is Sanjulian's prime painting in his golden years of his painting life--hell---it's even better than many of his earlier paintings, in my opinion--
