Description

This purchase made Heroes Con 2022 for me. Thanks to Chuck Arnold for parting with it and thanks to ML for inadvertently letting me know about it.

Seeing the Midnighter in action here is what makes this page so special. Laying waste to analogues from the X-Men and JLA. Quitely's super fine penciled notes in all the margins are a nice plus.

WOW.  Yeah, something like this would _definitely_ be the cherry on top of an event, even one as awesome as Heroes sounded!  Mega congrats, Chris.  This is a perfect example of Quitely going all-in on (and even one-upping?) the violence and tone Millar was going for.  LOVE the braining of "Colossus" in panel three, and for a sec I thought the "Gray Line" on the bus marquee was another sly X-shoutout (but she's Grey -EY, right)?  Congrats on landing this fantastic piece, sir!  What a beauty!

Hey Jason! Thanks for the comments, there are several more pieces to come. Heroes was a great show for art and even better for meeting fellow collectors.

I came upon the Midnighter
That gloriousness of Arnold,
From ML’s bend my ear unearths,
To touch this art so bold;
“Piece of the art, good inks to pen,
Quitely’s an all-pencil King.”
The world that Warren Ellis made,
Now belongs to the Thing

Looks like there was a lot of Quitely action at Heroes Con, super jealous. Love this page, especially the sense of motion that Vin excels at in the third panel. Congrats!

Millar and Quitely's work on "The Authority" was a jolt to the system when it first hit the scene.  I don't think anyone reading it for the first time today can fully appreciate how shocking it was at the time.  Congrats on landing a page from such an epic story!

Fantastic page, and seeing it in person is so much better. Thanks for the background on the Authority as well.

Quitely pages were flying at Heroes Con 2022 - loved seeing the art in all those portfolios. This is a spectacular example. Congrats - thanks for sharing!
