Description

Donald's Cousin Gus Donald Duck and Gus Goose Animation Drawing Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1939). "Get out! Go home!" Donald tries everything to evict his freeloading cousin Gus before he is eaten out of house and home in this short. It was directed by Jack King. This sequence begins at about the 4:50 mark of the short, as Donald loads Gus onto a dolly to try wheel him out of the house. Aside from featuring a very rare character (Gus Goose), this cartoon has true historical significance as it was the first ever pre-recorded film to be televised in the United States, airing as part of NBC's "first night" of sponsored programming on May 3, 1939. This group includes four original animation drawings from the hilarious short. One drawing depicts Donald and Gus as the goose begins to escape, two of the drawings depict Gus Goose flying through the air as he thwarts Donald's plan to throw him out, and one depicts Donald as he realizes his plan has failed. The drawings are rendered with graphite and colored pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. They are numbered in their lower right corners with C7, C7 �, 8, and C20. The drawings are in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including age-related toning, minor smudging, a few stray pencil marks, and minor creasing.

Great piece of history! It survived all these years and looks to be preserved very well.
