Description

Krrsantan gets in a tussle with a couple of bounty hunters over who is going to collect the mark on Aphra. Meanwhile, she beats feet passing through the Hal’lath quadruplets who are also arrive on scene to try and grab her.

Actual blue pencils (not digital pencils) used to create these layouts by Robert Gill. There is likely a Victor Olazaba inked page out there somewhere with the finished art.

Love seeing the energy and motion that these looser pencils convey.

Agreed. Layouts can sometimes carry more life than the finished work, as they capture that moment of creation and inspiration, and haven't been burdened by the weight of process.

I used to bite my tongue and work for Sith
Scared to rock the boat with my comments
They put me on bounty, Greedo Doc Chelli
I guess that I forgot I had no choice
I let you push me past blue pencil point
Used to have nothing, so I bought up everything

Gill penned me down, and laid it out (hey)
Put money on my Wookiee trust
He made his choice, a friend I found
Like thunder, gonna ground and pound
Sith held me down, but I got up (hey)
Skip bounty 'cause I've had enough
I see it all, I see it now

I got the eye of Doc Aphra, a fighter
Dance in line of fire
'Cause I got Krrsantan, and he's gonna bring Star War
Louder, louder and defying
'Cause I got Krrsantan, and he's gonna bring Star War

I am forwarding this to Disney, as I still have hopes for a Doctor Aphra tv series. I'm sure there would be some licensing to work out with Ms. Perry, but Disney has the staffing to handle that process.

I LOVE blue pencils. The energy and spontanaeity in the pencils, especially with the characters in the final panel here, is rarely captured in the final finished art. Is this a standard size board, Jeff?

It is an 11x17 board. The scan is a little off as the board is truly white, but I had to shift the settings on the scanner so it wouldn't ignore and not capture the blue as it would typically do.
