DescriptionWho's ready for some 90s OA goodness? Here we have a 'deep cut' -> a page from the OG Gen13 miniseries, issue 2, page 5 (page 7 in the book with ads I believe).This page was pencilled by J. Scott Campbell and is inked by Alex Garner and Sandra Hope (I'm pulling that attribution from the database as I see no marks on the page to indicate the inker(s) - if anyone has an eye for that or knowledge, lmk - it feel slike Garner to me, but I write software for a living so 🤷♂️ First, note the clever use of stamps to mark the page at the top - very clever Team WildStorm. Panel 1: We have Burnout flying up to meet three air gun ships. Panel 2: They unload on him once he is in their target zone with a plasma gun in addition to bullets - eeek! Panel 3: (we are in issue 2 so our team is really just learning/gettin g a feel for their powers. Burnout flexes and puts up his 'heat shield' which deflects the plasma blast. Panel 4: He then melts their bullets Panel 5: He then jokes "Hard to believe the kids back in school called me Burnout" and....scene Color page provided so you can see the rich digital coloring and the word balloons. I know everyone loves the JSC ladies, but I miss him working on action interiors. Look at the level of detail here and I think he's a great storyteller with a wry sense of humor that comes through the art. Maybe someday we'll see him go back to interiors. Social/Sharing |
