DescriptionMiracleman is Moore's fantastic and thorough examination of the Superman architype. A rich and textured tapestry is woven within the fabric of the Miracleman story. Pure mythos building has never been on better display anywhere. Most intriguing to me is the "Olympus" chapter which explores and imagines the changes such omnipotence brought into the world might herald for humankind. Despite the potential (and in some instance real) opportunities for evil to prevail in the story, I found it refreshing that Moore determined that virtue should win out in the end, leaving us mortals with benevolence under Olympus' shadow. So it goes without saying that I am ecstatic to be able to add the opening splash to the Olympus chapter to my collection. The fact that it is also an absolutely glorious illustration is also to my liking ;) John Totleben was exactly the right artist to bring Moore's vision for the Olympus chapter to life. Totleben's art is absolutely delicate and breath-taking as we would expect. His feathery and dreamy layouts and inking style just flow perfectly with Moore's story and dialogue to create graphic narrative of the highest caliber. The page was completed on a large 12x17.5 artboard with art from edge to edge. Social/Sharing |

Around these issues is where Miracleman lost touch with Mike Moran and his humanity to become a godlike being. The story is wonderfully done in prose and the art is opulent, befitting the thoughts of Alan Moore on what goes on in a god's mind who has no needs or wants.

Lovely page. The Booth and Finlay influences are clear but JTT has fused them into something all his own and it's magic!! Thanks for posting.
