DescriptionFor one of the most prolific Batman artists of all time, Norm Breyfogle's art is hard to come by. I longed for this specific piece for ages. It's hard to believe it's now part of my collection!

Fantastic piece - love how the insanely detailed background focus the eye toward Joker's maniacal face. Congrats!

Nice takedown of mid-90s Breyfogle. I've never seen the actual card but that background looks ripe for the prism card treatment.

Have to agree on the background. Almost op art.

That's the word I was looking for: op art 👍
Prism card or not, Breyfogle made a great choice in background to convey Joker's psychosis.

I have to agree with you and Jade W's comment above. The zip-a-tone creates a wonderful effect that really focusses the eye. The background makes a great piece of art even better!

Is that ziaptone? I thought Breyfogle hand-inked the entire background which would've made him as crazy as the Joker. I see the published card now. Looks great. It would be hard to forget that one!

Sorry, I should have clarified... it is zip-a-tone above the Joker's jacket but handdrawn and inked below his jacket.

Great, powerful image of the Joker, accentuated deftly by the background. Congrats!

Breyfogle may just be my favorite Joker artist, so I'm in awe of this.

Congrats. Always so rewarding to get something you've been after for such a long time. The quintessential Breyfogle Joker piece.

Thanks, Mark V. For a man who drew so many issues of Detective/Batman, his art is remarkably hard to find. So I'm happy to have this piece as I grew up in the Breyfogle era. It has a special place in my heart. As you say, this piece is "quintessential Breyfogle Joker".

WOW! Love seeing this in B&W with the full image. Great expression and love how the background accents the madness.

Not sure if there's ever been a poll among artists as to what character is the most fun to draw. But I'd imagine that Joker would be right up there. Great piece! That backbround is perfect for him.

As a fellow trading card OA collector, I am very happy that you got this piece which you were long chasing! I think it has a definitive Joker image by the late great Norm Breyfogle that is hard to resist. Congrats!

Combo of the pose, face, and that background really drives home the maniacal nature of Batman's big bad here - love it! Congrats!

The incredible use of forced perspective combined with the screentone/inking effects really make this image pop. It's a shame the full image wasn't used on the card, but I'm glad I got to see it in all its original glory.
