Description

"Who better to homage than yourself?"

A lot of Federico's international success as a great watercolorist & "need to get" commission artist, was when I started sharing the news about my Battle-Damaged Amazing Spider-Man during the summer of 2020.

So, for his recent summer sale, we thought that it'd be a lot of fun to revisit that great piece we both love a lot. But this time, with a spin - a black costumed variant, instead of the red & blue.

What can I say about this piece that's not immediately obvious when looking at it? The popping colours are amazing and make for a great contrast against the black costume. The determined, angry look and balance between face/mask is just spot on. And the red background splashes only add to the intensity of the stare.

A beautiful piece, as always, Federico!

Size is 9x12.

Fabulous how he thins out the black watercolor in spots to allow for the costume to shine.

Absolutely! Good call! And now I noticed those blue touches in the black to add to that lighting coming from Spidey's left side. Thanks for highlighting that!
