Description

A Bruce McCorkindale re-creation of a John Carter illustration by Al Williamson and Reed Crandall. Pen, brush and ink on 13 X 20" Bristol board. Bruce commented that "Normally, re-creations take me 8-10 hours. This one took the longest of any I've done...I'd guess around 20-24 hours, spread out over a couple months. I found the crosshatching... nerve-wracking. The whole look falls down if the thick-thinness is off, or if the lines don't cross just so. Hopefully, I got...close."

Great job in going line for line when they are so immense and have it create the same effect on the audience of the original.
