Description

The Cartoonist Kayfabe Corner Box Combo starts now with this Mister Sinister corner box by Ed Piskor.

This corner box was used for the X-Men: Grand Design - X-Tinction Issue #1 corner box variant cover. Spot on take by Ed Piskor here, nice use of shadow on the face, sharp inks, and clean hand lettering.

This is Ed's take on a corner box that initially appeared on the cover of X-Factor #39, drawn by Walt Simonson. Issue #39 was part of the Inferno arc, and heavily featured Mister Sinister.

On 9x12 board, corner box measures 5 1/2" x 10 1/4"

That corner box shot of Sinister is seared into my brain from the Inferno arc! Very cool homage here, man. Nice inks, no doubt. Congrats!

So good. Piskor nails this.

I'm not an X-Men reader anymore but I did come back for Grand Design. Piskor did an amazing job of synthesizing so much X-Men history into a single coherent narrative.

Thanks Mark, couldn't agree more. I feel like his character design works very well with the X-Men and is distinct enough to stand out on its own.
