DescriptionPublished 1986.Supergirl: Bride of -- X? written by Cary Bates A post death story about Supergirl published three months after she dies Crisis on Infinite Earths issue 7 and two months before the conclusion of Crisis in issue 12. This is a story that makes me want to throw stuff against the wall. It was totally unnecessary and the plot holes are numerous. And after Crisis concluded it was determined that Supergirl's existence would be erased from the DC universe thereby making this story even more pointless. And oh by the way, let's rip off Transformers while we are at it! But we can at least revel in the great art of Curt Swan masterfully inked by Al Williamson. Social/Sharing |

(It starts with) This page, I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how Swan would try
Keep that ink line, Williamson shines
To erase in due time
(All I know)
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by editorial swings
Watch it count down to Crisis number eight
The clock ticks life away
It's so unreal
Perez puts out a show
Watch Kara fly right off the handle
Tryin' to hold on, did-didn't even know
Got wasted by Anti Monitor's blow
(Watched you go) I kept my feelings inside and even though I tried
This all fell apart
What Swan meant to me will eventually
Be a memory of a time when I read them all
I read them all and got so far
For Cary Bates it doesn't even matter
Against the wall, I threw it all
But in her end it doesn't even matter

Man, I've been wanting to read this issue for years and here I thought I'd get a clear picture as to whether it was worth reading, but you're just too busy beating around the bush instead of clarifying your position. Should I read this story or not? Oh, great Swan/Williamson art, indeed!
