DescriptionFrom part two of four in the Twilight story arc, Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos has lost his memory. Not only must he fight to rediscover his past, he must also track down his Padawan, Aayla Secura, who has mysteriously disappeared. With only his lightsaber and a scheming Devaronian named Villie to help him, Quinlan must face off against deadly gamblers, false Jedi, corrupt officials, and the pull of the dark side if he is to survive! Having been briefly introduced in a few panels of issue 17, this storyline was the true launch point for this popular character during the first era of Dark Horse Star Wars comics. Here Quinlan and Villie take on body guards and destroyer droids as they try to extricate themselves from Bib Fortuna’s lair on Nar Shaddaa, nicknamed the “Smuggler’s Moon,” in orbit around the Hutt home world of Nal Hutta. I very much enjoyed when John and Jan teamed up on Star Wars stories. And Rick’s inking for this issue was solid. Social/Sharing |

Gary, now I know I was wrong
I messed up, and art's now gone
Gary, I'm sorry he out bidded you
Oh, I never suspected art I sent away to Jeffrey
Had Vos and Villie
Your Jan right now would look like Magyar to me
Please come home, Jedi miss you, Gary
(Gary, come home) Gary come home
(Gary, come home)
Gary, can't you see the force's blind?
I'll do anything to trick your mind
More than a page, we're smuggler friends
Too cool to forget
Come back 'cause Lucas family
And Fortuna for making you take a loan
And now my heart is empty like the Houston Astrodome
Somewhere I hope you're reading
My Jabba Dark Horse poem
Gary, come home

Lots of light saber and pew pew action! That's what Star Wars is about!

Hmm, looks like ol' Gary was ultimately more like Magyar's flipper rather than his friend. Indeed!

Well, he waited 22 years to do it. So that might be outside the period of flipitude.

Ruben,
Never been a "flipper". Rick was a close friend of mine for years, and we only lost touch a few years ago due to illness on my end. Hated to let this page go, but Medical Bills made it a must do. Hope all is well with him...

Hi Gary. Yes, as was pointed out to me in the above comments, the page is from the late 90's. I hadn't noticed that and thought it was a new page. Last I heard, Rick was doing fine but that was a few years back. Best wishes for your own health!

Thanks! Jan was superb. Yesterday she did a show with Janice Chiang and June Brigman. Worth a watch for anyone that might come across this comment.

Fantastic page!! I wholeheartedly agree the Duusema/Ostrander team did some of the best SW worldbuilding of the Republic era.
