DescriptionThe first comic book I ever bought for myself as a little kid was X-Men #107. I didn't really know what was going on, but I was enthralled by all of the characters and concepts and this made me a Dave Cockrum fan for life. The first few pages were particularly mind-blowing, with the incredible page 1 splash (currently in Dave Mandel's collection) followed by this amazing two page splash introducing the Sh'iar Imperial Guard. In the early 2000's I was really lucky to be able to buy the page 26 splash (featuring the first appearance of the Starjammers) and then this was offered to me a few years later. It was a stretch at the time (and now would be completely out of reach), so I'm glad I went ahead and bought it when I did. I'm finally posting this to CAF in honor of Glen Cadigan's new Dave Cockrum biography: https://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1680 The art was drawn on two unattached art boards and I've tried my best to align the scans as much as possible. Hope you enjoy seeing it. Wow - what an incredible cast of characters. I wonder how long it took Cockrum to draw this? Congrats and thanks for posting it.

Of all the Cockrum DPS's in the world, this may well be the Cockrumest!

This is an epic two page spread. Just the thought that Cockrum had to come up with all of those costumes is enough to boggle the mind let alone the layout of the pages. I really wish that Byrne had kept the Fang costume for Wolverine.

I mean, it's only the most memorable piece of Cockrum art in the entire 2 runs he did on X-Men, so you you could do better, but it's all right I guess. Congrats on stretching for it when you had the chance, Ted!

This is a highlight in your collection because it is a highlight in Cockrum's career. One of his greatest achievements that sparked the imagination then and for generaions to come!
