DescriptionRONNIE!This is the ORIGINAL acrylic on canvas of Mukai's famous serigraph released by Mirage. Canvas is huge at 28" x 38" without the floating frame. This canvas was created in the same manner as ALL Patrick Nagel canvases while working with same publisher Karl Bornstein at Mirage. This is an example of Dennis Mukai's 80s new gestural style, after Nagel's early death in 1984. Already working for Playboy for many years, Mukai reinvented himself became an International 80s superstar, selling in Europe and also Japan. He actually achieved more global success than Nagel at the time. Ronnie is the FIRST of two prints released by Mirage for Mukai. This is the beginning! So '80s! The canvas is in beautiful condition as it was FRAMED and was originally sold by Mirage Editions, Inc. IMPORTANT note: Patrick Nagel and Dennis Mukai both worked at Mirage in early 80s and were great fiends. They influenced one another and Pat is the one that convinced Mirage to hire Mukai.
