DescriptionThere. It finally happened. I bought some DC art.I've been admiring Mike Perkins' work on this book from afar but it never really occurred to me to pick up any art. I hadn't been reading the book so it didn't feel quite right claiming anything from it. Fast forward to our friend Ruben DaCollector dedicating a Youtube show to the appreciation of Mike Perkins one Sunday night. He and his cohorts, Chris Snorek & Jason Hussa did such an eloquent job combining their love of both Ram V's story and Perkin's career-best work that I was drawn in - hook, line and sinker. I bought this DPS before the conclusion of the show and then ordered the first two trades of the book at the same time. As a bonus, by the time the art arrived, I had read the excellent source material and didn't feel quite as poserish. Social/Sharing |

Everyone pretty much knows I'm not a big panel page guy (or a DC guy for that matter). But I really love all the individual panels on this. Just a gorgeous DPS.

HA!! Fantastic piece, Eranga! Sublime tonal work, and a masterful study in contrast... The way Mike seamlessly fades the dark ink of the forest, through the grey washes, to the natural white of the page at the bottom half of page 12 utterly captivates me. Add to that the Jericho Rose, the beautiful atmospheric setting, and two KILLER panels of our hero...? Outstanding spread, E, and a worthy "oathbreaker"... the depth, scope, and beauty of the art itself compels one to purchase it, regardless of publisher... ;) So, SO good. "Current owner" designation has been updated! Another testament to your killer taste, sir. Awesome pick up - congrats!
