Description

"Secret Agent Droids, Part 3" is an comic story featuring C-3PO, BB-8 and R2-D2. The story was written by Michael Moreci, illustrated by Tony Fleecs. The three parts were printed across issues 27 thru 29. Here we see our droid friends along with Poe Dameron, General Leia Organa, and a local Duros girl named Likana.

It was my great pleasure to finally meet Tony in person and pick up this page at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con a couple weekends back. Tony blends digital and traditional approaches in his process. So this page was accomplished with digital layouts, inks over blue lines on board, then re-scanned and fills and finishes done digitally.

I find the more cartoony style works very well for droid-centric stories.  This page is a delight.

Those droids make great characters for all ages comics for sure. And I can't help but hear the 80s Droids cartoon theme song any time I see a page in this kind of style.

Awesome page with some great characters. Glad I got to see it while visiting. We have two of the three droids in our house. One day I hope to make a droid movie with them.

That is some deliciously OCD labeling at the top of the board there. I had the pleasure of meeting Tony at Heroes this year - nice guy!

I LOVE his labeling. If part of the process is CG and layouts or digital pencils are being printed to the board there is no excuse not to include all of the identification info we collectors desire at the top. Tony has it dialed in and I am very grateful.

Don't get me wrong, I'm here for it. Cliff Chiang is also very meticulous.

Due to Fleecs' working method, this is a perfect example of a piece where yo ushould post the published page as an additional image, so we can see all the aspects of the art in the finished product that are missing on the original page.

I usually do post the published page, and I totally forgot to pull a copy for this one. Thanks for the reminder and the image!

Poe, get your X-Wing to fly
I know Jeff's art'll go fine
Fly down C3PO
Three-P-oh, Three-P-oh
And here I am
The only living Droid in Star Wars

I get the Fleecs I need on comic con report
Oh, I can gather all the friends I meet at the Vegas resort
Hey, I've got nothing to Artoo day but smile
BB8, Dam-er-on
And here I am
The only living Droids in Leia's home

Now that adventure's on
But Likana's here
And we would not care

Fun page! Having that trio of droids in 1 panel alone makes this page super cool.
