DescriptionPublished 1978as ALL NEW COLLECTORS' EDITION, Vol. 7, No. C-55 The Millennium Massacre written by Paul Levitz This page features the wedding of the Lighting Lad and Saturn Girl. The guests are other active Legionnaires, the Substitute Heroes and R.J. Brande with Paul Levitz and Mike Grell crashing the wedding. Interestingly, the recognized Legion 'couples' are shown together: Projectra and Karate Kid, Mon-El and Shadow Lass, Duplicate Boy and Shrinking Violet, Dawnstar and Wildfire, Bouncing Boy and Duo Damsel (married) but not Star boy and Dream Girl. Holy cow! That's a Legion grail! (I just wish they would have found a better inker for Grell.)

Wow, this is absolutely spectacular! I think it's safe to say that no super team even comes close the Legion in terms of how many team members they've had, right? Anyone missing here? Great early Grell work and I love how he couldn't resist not only including himself and Levitz, but breaking the 4th wall and having themselves staring back at the reader, like "That's right, we're here!".

Ok, I just want to warn you that when I wrote this song I was listening to the
Cure a lot.
You don't know how much Garth needs you.
While you're Irma I don't feel blue.

I can't believe I found the art that's so pure and true.
But it all was Levitz.
It was a masterstroke.
And when I think of you Irma,
I am just going broke.
I hope you're glad with Mike Grell's artistry.
I lay in bed all day long reading Legion story.
You left Vince Collettalone, inks running constantly.
Oh somebody Grell me please,
Crash the wedding plee-ase,
Serve wine and cheese,
pretty pretty please Grell me.
I want to fly.
Put a flightring in my hand.
I liked it.

Grell Legion pages do not come more memorable than this. Cheers! (Love the 2970s sense of fashion.)

The best Grell page, but, even after all these years, I still don't like the Levitz and Grell cameos.

Wow! Definitely a grail page and, some migh say,the ultimate Grell Legion page (pages?) as well. Group shots like this don't come aorund very often and this is a rare gem. Many congrats, Miki!
