DescriptionPublished 2008Legion of Three Worlds promo Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes Vs. Superboy Prime and the Legion of Super-Villains I know that the printed copy says Superman Prime however the character was always Superboy Prime in the series. I believe this text was written by an assistant editor and the error was not caught. Social/Sharing |

Prime is on my side, yes he is
Prime in Perez line, yes it is
Now you always say
You got Legion of three
But you'll come leading bad (said you would baby)
You'll come to attack (I said so many times before)
You'll come fighting back to me
Yeah, Prime is on my mind, yes he is
Find Legion in time, go get it
You're searching for good lines
With Scott’s inks to see
We’ll come fighting back (I said, don't worry darling)
You'll come on attack (spend the rest of my life with you, Miki)
You'll bring Legion art to me

Two fantastic lineups on one page! And let me also mention the layout is super-effective for a one-page promo!

Wow, this is an astounding piece, Miki. Absolutely superb! It's cool that it's a promo piece. I love published specialty pieces like this. I wish I could tune in to live YouTube art sales and pick up something like this for a fair $250 to $275. Oh hell, I could see myself even pushing it to $300 maybe! 😃

Another stunning Perez page with multiple characters as only George could draw them. Also, there was no mistake in calling him Superman Prime. At the time (2008) the character of Superboy was tied up in the legalities of the Siegel Family lawsuit against DC and Warner Brothers. The suit was settled in 2013 with the judge determining that DC retained the rights to Superboy.

Not quite: In the first issue of Legion of Three Worlds when Prime see his statue in the Superman museum, the Olsen hologram says 'That's Superboy-Prime'

interesting. I was under tthe impression that DC could not legally use the name Superboy until the suit was settled. i even remember an Ethan Van Sciver cover of Superboy Prime that was billed as Superman Prime. Don't remember what bookit was on, though.

Superman-Prime is the older version of Superboy-Prime. In ssue 4 - the Time Trapper reveals himself to be Superman-Prime and in the finale, Superman-Prime and Superboy-Prime battle.

Ah, that makes sense. OK, that clears that up! Thank you.

Try saying that sentence to someone who is not into comics and watch their eyes swiftly glaze over. Nice artwork by the way!
