DescriptionThis hobby continues to shock me! Given the state of the market, and the asking/sale prices for other pages from this epic, especially during this anniversary year for the Death of Superman, I had pretty much made peace with the fact that a nice page from Reign/Return would be realistically be out of reach for me. Well, nope, had a recent opportunity to add a pretty great Return of Superman page (even with its lack of a flowing mane or S Shield). This one is literally the act of Superman returning, within the safety of his Kryptonian War Suit as it lumbers along the ocean floor on its march to Metropolis! To top it off, the panel of the War Suit was also published as one of the reading cards from the Skybox Return of Superman cards! Huge bonus there! So this year alone I have added a page from the Death story and now the climax to the Reign story/kickoff of Return. Like I said, this hobby continues to amaze me & I feel quite fortune to be able to display such art from artists who are hardwired into my comics loving DNA! Social/Sharing |

Love that bottom panel!
Definitely a memorable one. Read the story countless time and opened a whole bunch of those trading cards to get my full set back in the day!

Even in this Reign of the Supermen storyline, people already figured out that Superman was coming back somehow. This is a really strong set up page for the return. Guice's layout builds and builds the drama on the page to get us wondering if this could be him or another one of the Supermen.

By this point in the story it was pretty clear (at least to my teenage brain) that this had to be the real deal. But that black suit was a curve ball for sure! They wouldn't introduce another replacement...would they?!? Hmmm
