Description

One of the esteemed guests at the FACTS Fall Edition 2022 (Saturday 22nd of October) was cover artist extraordinaire Michael Cho. Last year, he said he wouldn't be sketching at shows anymore, nor would he be taking any commissions.

Fortunately, for this show in Belgium, he brought a folder with some color roughs, as well as 2 of his typical commission style head sketches. Since I was early in line, I got one of the two pieces, a nice & menacing Batman.

Mike was extremely nice and easy to talk to. In the afternoon, the rush died down a bit & I had the opportunity to chat about his work, as well as his friendship with Darwyn Cooke. Then I gently let him go and have some quality time with his family - since he was extremely jetlagged.

This piece is 9x12 & pencils, inks & markers on bristol board.

Congratulations - Michael's work is sublime. I've also had the pleasure of talking with him at a convention - he's a class act.

The drapery look is amazing to cover half the symbol. The colorwork adds a lot of depth and also narrows the face to make him even more grim and determined.

Michael cho was very cool and not so busy the week-end.
Happy to have a piece also !
Your Batman is stunning and congratulations.
We have to put ourself in contact for the next convention in Belgium or Europe !! :)
