DescriptionI may love the Avengers and Defenders but X-Men has had some of the best runs in comics. I always meant to buy a Byrne X-Men page when every auction you could buy at least one for $3,000. The cover to X-Men by Kane went fairly reasonable some years back but again, never pulled the trigger. Jim and Scott's run, Kubert's run...etc. you get the point. I have not made the same mistake with the Bendis/Immonen run. It was spectacle with at least one dps per issue. This was my favorite of the whole run. Thrilled to have it. Here are HA's words:Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, and Craig Yeung All-New X-Men #5 Double-Page Spread 13-14 Original Art (Marvel, 2013). A 1964 version of Jean Grey uses her telepathy and is exposed to an intense vision where she sees all that she will endure in her future, from the Dark Phoenix to her wedding! Pencils were done by Immonen with inks being credited to Von Grawbadger and Yeung. This double-page spread was created in ink over graphite and blue pencil on two conjoined Marvel Bristol boards with an overall image area of 20.25" x 15.5". Editorial marks/notes and smudging/handling wear; otherwise, in Excellent condition. Social/Sharing |

Wow---That is epic!! The kind of piece you can gaze at for hours and keep seeing new stuff. Immonen and Grawbadger are an amazing artistic team. Grawbadger...isn't he a character from The Wind In The Willows? :-)

Earth-shattering, time-splitting, brain-melting spread, Kirk! I agree with both your assessment of the artistic high-water of this run, as well as the place this particular spread has in it. An incredible display of "future history" for Jean here, with the jagged panel edges helping to convey the feeling of fracture as an onslaught of memory and experience floods in... Most sincere congratulations on another great Immonen add to your terrific gallery, Kirk: this is as phantasmagoric as they come!

Hi Kirk! Congrats on this piece. I'm not sure why I'm credited on this, although I think this is the issue where I helped out on some interior pages. I did not work on the cover. I believe this was all Wade. Cheers! Congrats again on a phenomenal piece!
