Description

I was hanging out at Mark Hay's Splash Page Art booth in San Diego when this unassuming fellow walked by and started looking at Michael Lark art. I happened to read his name badge and then shouted way too loud "MArcos Martin!!!" He just about jumped out of his skin! I quickly introduced myself and gushingly praised his work on Batgirl. I was not aware that he was going to be in San Diego because he was not listed as an attending professional. He explained he was just there on vacation and not in any official capacity. Seeing as how Marcos lives out of the country I figured I would nto have many more oppurtunities to ask to I asked if he was going to be doing any sketches at the con. He said he had not planned on it but he would come by the booth the next day if I could find him a pencil and do one for me. I quickly agreed. I sort of figured I might have scared him off with my fanboy gushing and the likelyhood of me ever seeign him again was pretty slim. Good as his word he showed up and did this great Batgirl for me. He even refused being paid for it. I hope I get a chance to meet him again

I think I would have gushed and fanboy-ed out too, man! What a great story, and a lucky coincidence. . . I've been looking for some of his art for a few years, but no luck. :(

I LOVE IT ! So much expression in just a few lines, just shows how much Marcos is a master of his craft. An outstanding sketch and a cool story. Congrats !
