Norman Osbourne first appeared as the Golden Goblin on the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #13 on November 9th, 2022. He returned the next week with his own solo series on November 16th, 2022.

These are the first drawings of Norman Osbourne as the Gold Goblin as designed by the amazing Ed McGuinness. It was super cool to see John Romita Jr recreated Ed's design in ASM #13 to give us the first published appearance of the Gold Goblin's suit.

McGuinness does some of the coolest character designs and redesigns in my humble opinion. I feel fortunate to own this type of work as I love seeing the process and seeing the early, raw and pure thoughts and lines where the artist breathes life into these characters for the first time.

It's been super cool to see someone at Marvel appreciate this type of work as well with the release of design variant covers in the past ten years or so. I'm happy to say these designs were published as a variant cover for Gold Goblin's first solo issue.

First off, a great design page. I'll admit to not keeping up with Spidey in recent years - but with all these new color goblin's (red/gold..) wonder if they have enough variety to go head to toe witht he Power Rangers. Is there a Pink Goblin?! Thanks for posting all this process art George!
