DescriptionBack in August, Joëlle posted a video on Instagram with a comment saying “Gathering up some art for ECCC” and peeking out from under a pile of pin-ups, there it was, her cover for Catwoman #5 – see Additional Images.I really enjoyed Joëlle’s run on Catwoman and have been wanting to pick up a cover since 2018 (!) but as you may know, the opportunities to buy her recent work are very rare indeed, so you need to be patient. And when an opportunity comes around, you need to be very quick off the mark. So within seconds of seeing the video on Instagram, I fired off an email to Andrew at Cadence Comic Art and was absolutely delighted to hear that this was still available. Thanks again Andrew! UPDATE -- Thanks Bill for discussing this one in your interview with Joëlle! That was awesome! Solicitation: A secret hideout is supposed to be just that—secret. So how did her new villain’s criminal crew know where to plant an explosive in Selina’s new pad? As if that blow-up weren’t bad enough, the cops come calling and arrest Selina for murder. Locked up without bail, Catwoman finds that she isn’t very popular in jail, and must fight the other inmates just to stay alive and avoid a shiv. Will she make a deal with her new nemesis, that cagey Creel, or is orange the new black for Selina’s foreseeable future? Social/Sharing |

Even with all the busy costume design, explosive crash, and the fully detailed city scape, you have this pure elegance of a dancer's pose showing Catwoman fully in her element! A cover to remember!

Fantastic Catwoman cover by Joëlle Jones! I love the uenexpected pose of Catwoman breaking through a window, as if she's embracing the moment instead of ducking from it. The linework throughout is beautiful and the strong use of blacks really gives the art some pop! Great score!
