Description

This is page 4 of 7 from the last story in the book.

Ranger Smith lays down the law as the competition switches from pies to climbing a greased pole. The part I like on this series is how Boo Boo cheers on his buddy.

This story was by Ray Dirgo, a regular artist for Charlton. The Charlton Comics company was never one that I bought, as they weren't super heroes and that was my interest. But now as an adult, their Hanna-Barbera line brings back a lot of memories.

The following snippets were taken from Wikipedia:
Charlton Comics was an American comic book publishing company that existed from 1945 to 1986, having begun under a different name: T.W.O. Charles Company, in 1940.

Charlton Comics published a wide variety of genres including; crime, science fiction, Western, horror, war and romance comics, as well as talking animal and superhero titles. The company was known for its low-budget practices, often using unpublished material acquired from defunct companies and paying comics creators among the lowest rates in the industry. Charlton was also the last of the American comics publishers still operating to raise its cover prices from ten cents to 12 cents in 1962.

Early in 1975, Cuti, already writing freelance for the company in addition to his staff duties, quit to write freelance exclusively for Charlton when its line expanded to include black-and-white magazines in addition to the King Features and Hanna-Barbera franchised titles.

My brain pushes out all useful information and replaces it with useless stuff.

Nice wholesome fun that could be found in the cartoons that parents saw and found to be harmless enough to buy the comics for their kids.  You can see as the funny animal comics that were very influentual in comics and childrens entertainment from these stories during the middle of the 20th century.
