I gotta say, it really took some balls, particularly in the era this was published, for Giffen to continue experimenting with his style and getting it to this point. It's hard to describe. Clearly Kirby-ish at its root, but then almost taking it to a pseudo pop art level. I clearly recall most readers disliking it and even I felt he had taken it a bit too far. But as is often wont to happen, withthe passing of years I've come to appreciate it more than I did back then. What were/are YOUR feelings about it, Miki?

I loved this further iteration of Giffen's style. It took me awhile to come to terms with his Five Years Later style but this movement back towards Kirby grabbed me. I have said it before and I'll say it again, Giffen is a genius!
I see people oohing and aahing over some of today's artists and I think to myself, Giffen did that twenty tears ago.

In your post last night
I was seeing something wasn't right
There was Giffen’s Kirby show you like
Only you, only you
So we went along
Though I knew that million years had gone
Legion feeling hit me, oh so strong
Just like you
Then you gazed up Kirby
And the Krackle dot’s plain to see
'Cause I saw the light
Giffen lines (in your eyes)
Gordon lines (in your eyes)
Though we love his inks (we had our fling)
I forever would respect the King (suspect a thing)
'Til that Legion style began to ring (began to bring)
In my head, what I've read
