Description

Betty as the Red Harpy in this series was many parts frightful and grotesque but also contained quite a few humanizing scenes, where we witness the conflict of her new powers and the anger that it creates in her. I love how their roles are reversed many times during this title, replacing the usual interactions of Hulk and Betty with those of Bruce and the Red Harpy. Without context or that last panel with Bruce looking dejected and Samson in yet another awkward situation, this scene is actually quite serene and beautiful.

I was gonna say, it's no small feat to make a harpy look absolutely beautiful, but Mike Hawthorne does it here, and without that last panel, it really is a serene, tranquil set of images. Very very nice!!
