A dynamic Gil Kane Marvel cover! Jungle Action with Black Panther were some of his best compositions of the 70's as the character meant so much more than just any superhero. This is one of his best with an iconic pose and the panther god symbolism behind.

The heor, staggered after battle, with torn suit. Such a 70's hallmark - this is great. Congrats!

I usually like his DC work a lot more than the Marvel stuff, but this a winner. Congrats.

*kzzt*...*kzzzt*....relax...OK. Was starting to short circuit from the pure awesomeness here. One of the THE Panther covers...woo-wee. I've always like the published image but it looks that much better in OA B&W! Perfect T'Challa pose, just having taken care of business, and that panther in the background...also perfect! And the lettering...just all melds for some suh-weet vintage BP goodness. HUGE congrats, Don!

What has gone wrong with the figure drawing at the left side of the cover? I can't see Gil getting anatomy so wrong/unresolved Has the inker forgotten to put in the blacks and details? It's as if original pencils have been deleted before the inks were applied. The carelessness ruins what is otherwise a powerful, dynamic illustration. I'm amazed nobody has ever noticed the anomaly, after all it went all the way to print!
