It's funny how sometimes you can lose out on a piece in the morning, then show up to work and see a piece in the mail waiting for you from the same artist - which is just what happened today.
I woke up this AM to a CAF e-mail with a posting of a Zeck Nomad sketch and went to jump on it right away, but found that it had already been sold (within minutes of course, plus I'm on the west coast and the e-mail came to me when I was sleeping at 5:30 am) - bummed as I was I moved on, it happens.
Then I get to work and this great Zeck Cap was waiting for me, which took the sting out a bit of losing out on a Nomad by Zeck.
Happy for the fellow collector who snagged the piece I was after, but it's a good wake up call honestly - as friendly as collectors are with each other, and how you hope someone who knows your interests will keep you in mind when something shows up, they may also just want that piece for themselves.
This hobby is just as often a competition as it is a camaraderie.
Huge thanks to Ken Carson and 4C comics for posting this great Zeck Cap on Facebook. Very happy to have it.

Pretty iconic! The way Zeck uses the greytones to give more volume and depth takes these pieces to greater heights.

Ha ha, yes, competition and camaraderie - 2 sides of the same OA collecting coin :) Sorry you lost out on the Nomad but this is a pretty killer consolation. You know for me, Zeck's at the top. Congrats!
